Scottsdale Wedding: Joe+Kelly

Meet Joe and Kelly.

Joe and Kelly were married at Tatum Ranch Golf Course just this last weekend. My 2010 wedding season has kicked off with the most amazing couples and these two were no exception. Kelly has the most infectious smile it made my job so easy! I love the look on Kelly’s face as her father is walking down the aisle.

And here is Joe anxiously awaiting his bride.

Tatum Ranch provides the perfect Arizona backdrop for an outdoor wedding.

Although the rain held off, it was a little windy.  This made the sand ceremony tricky!

Married!!

I LOVE this picture of Kelly!

We explored the grounds at Tatum Ranch to captures these next few images.

Some of my favorite details shots from the day.

Joe and Kelly live out of state, so it was actually Kelly’s parents (Dave and Mary) who booked me for their wedding. I exchanged several e-mails with Dave and coordinated most of the days details with her Dad. One thing was clear from the first time I met Dave, and that was the pure unconditional love he had for his daughter. It was so clear that Dave and Mary both wanted this day to be perfect for Kelly in every way. The father daughter dance was one of the sweetest I have photographed and it left few people with a dry eye (including me).

Kelly’s sister was her maid-of-honor. During her speech, is was again clear the special bond and love that Dave and Mary both have with their daughters.

As if the emotions of the wedding day wasn’t enough, it was also Dave’s birthday! Kelly planned ahead to surprise him with a birthday cake.

As the sun was setting we went back outside to take one last picture.

Joe and Kelly I know that you are on your honeymoon now. I am so thankful that your parents chose me to photograph your day. Meeting the bride and groom only hours before photographing their wedding can be a challenge, but the love that you have for each other and the love in both of your families made it such a joy to be apart of your day.

March 5, 2010 - 3:07 pm Ashley Gillen - You did an amazing job! I love each and every picture that you have posted here- I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos from Kelly and Joe's special day! -Kelly's Maid of Honor- Ashley Gillen

March 5, 2010 - 3:53 pm Jillian - Tatum Ranch -- looks familiar! ;-) Beautiful wedding!

Philip+Danelle Married!

Philip and Danelle are married!

Philip and Danelle are two of the most genuine and down to earth people you will ever meet. Their love for each other and joy to marry each other was so easy to see and so easy to photograph. They chose to see each other before the ceremony which gave me a chance to capture these favorite images.

I LOVE bridal portraits. With images like this how could you not!

Beautiful flowers!

Danelle has an infectious smile and I think it’s clear that it runs in the family.  I love how her and her father smiled all the way down the aisle.

The ceremony was very special, but even more so because Philip’s father performed the ceremony.

Probably my favorite images from the ceremony.  It is so easy to see the love they have for each other.

Married!!

Phillip and Danelle thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your day.

Just a quick side note. Wedding season is starting to kick into high gear and there are some big changes about to happen here at Ali Girl Photography. Starting with a business name change. I promise I will explain it all soon! Thanks to all of my Facebook friends for helping me pick my new logo!

March 2, 2010 - 11:00 pm Danelle - Thank you, Suzanne! You do such amazing work - we are so lucky to have you as our photographer!!

Tatum Ranch Wedding: Peter+Jillian

The last wedding this season for me….sniffle, sniffle, but it was AWESOME!!!!!!!  Meet Peter and Jillian.

Jillian contacted me what seems like forever ago to photograph their wedding. I have to admit that I have been waiting all season to photograph her because I knew she would be a beautiful bride. There is something about her that is just so beautiful in a very effortless way.

Peter and Jillian were married at Tatum Ranch Golf Course and the sky was the most amazing shades of blue.

At one point during the ceremony Jillian’s dad reached over and fixed her dress to look just perfect. How sweet is that!

Peter smiled through the ENTIRE ceremony. But seriously, wouldn’t you if you were marrying this gorgeous girl!

After the ceremony we headed to the 18th hole to take some pictures before the sunset.

Before we lost the sun I took these last few which are some of my favorite from the day.

We headed inside for the reception and Peter and Jillian shared their first dance as a married couple.

I am a firm believer that details can really make a wedding special and they don’t have to be expensive. You can see below that they used rocks to write guests names on for table settings. It went perfectly with their thank you trees.

These robots were supposed to go on the cake, but I think they were a little too big. I have to admit that I’m not one hundred percent sure what the story is behind these robots, but I can tell you this: Jillian’s ring tone is Star Wars…I’m thinking somehow this is related. Someone leave a comment below and let me know!

A little fun with the cake!

At the end of the night we took a few more pictures. This one was my favorite because I think it shows the excitement of the entire day all wrapped up in one big moment.

As I mentioned above, this was my last wedding of the Fall 2009 season and I can’t thank all of my brides enough for allowing be to share your special day. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE every minute of your wedding days and I would probably relive them if I could. My hope is that my pictures allow you to relive them for many years to come.

Although this wraps up the wedding season I still have lots more share. Portrait sessions, engagement sessions, Friday FAQs will hopefully make a come back, and then the new wedding season starting in January! So check back soon and leave a comment to let me know you were here!

November 20, 2009 - 12:33 pm Jillian - I love this post! I love our photos! :-D As far as the vintage robots, I wanted something unique for the cake topper. And seeing how the girl robot had on a pink dress (my wedding color) and she even had on earrings! I knew they were it! And no, I am not a Star Wars fan AT ALL, but Peter is, and it's the ringtone for him only. And that's why I let him choose the song for the bridal party entrance. You gotta let the groom have something! ;-) Thank you so much Suzanne!!! :-D

November 20, 2009 - 2:10 pm Jennifer - Suzanne, thank you so much for posting these beautiful photos!!! I could cry for how well you photograph and you do it with such a loving eye! An artist always puts so much of themselves into their work. Thank you so much for adding that "special" touch to my sister's wedding and for all the work you did! You truly are gifted and I'd love to have you do my wedding (when that happens).

November 20, 2009 - 2:41 pm Ali Girl Photography - I would LOVE to photograph your wedding...whenever that may be:) So glad you enjoy the pictures. I loved taking them!

We were able to look at my granddaughter Jillian and Peters wedding pictures which you took and I wanted to tell you that you have a gift, they are awesome. I especially like the little commends you made under the photos, it makes me believe that you not only showed romance in your work, but you have pride in analyzing your photos. Sorry to say but only a lady could do such an awesome job. Thanks so much for these wonderful memories, we love your work and we would recommend you any time anyone is looking for a photographer. A proud grandma Ursula

Wedding at the Hotel Valley Ho: Joey+Christin

Joey and Christin were married on Halloween at the Hotel Valley Ho. Their wedding was anything, but spooky! It was great!

Just look at the beautiful bride!

Christin’s “blue for good luck” was in her shoes. How she managed to wear these all night is beyond me, but I LOVE em!!

The guys weren’t too bad at working the camera either.

The groomsmen also showed a little style in their choice of shoes.

We took these next few images before the ceremony started.

Joey and Christin included their cute little dog in the ceremony. He wasn’t much interested in posing for pictures, but I snapped this quick one before he ran away from me.

Here are the guests mingling before the rooftop sunset ceremony.

Although there a was little bit of last minute chaos before the ceremony once things got started Joey and Christin were able to focus on each other and nothing else.

The fading sun provided for some great color.

By the time they were married it was practically dark!

Joey and Christin embraced the Halloween theme without going overboard. They had touches of orange and pumpkins appropriately sprinkled in which provided for a very unique and personal wedding.

Here are a few more of my favorite images from the day.

November 16, 2009 - 8:44 pm kelly - I love these!!! I LOVE so many I don't know which are my favorites!!! Baxter is hillarious!!!!!! Christin and Joey you just look so in love!!!

November 18, 2009 - 5:41 am Linda Bogan - Kirstin, How beautiful you look! I knew you would make a beautiful bride. I am so happy for you guys. May you have a long and happy marriage. Love, Aunt Linda

Tempe Wedding: Stefanie+Jeff

Meet Stefanie and Jeff!

Stefanie and Jeff were married a couple of weeks ago and have so patiently waited for me to blog their wedding. I have just wrapped up six straight weeks of weddings and have a lot to share so let’s get started!

Stefanie made all of the bouquets herself and they looked great!

Stefanie and Jeff chose to see each other before the ceremony which allowed me to capture these next few pictures.

I LOVE this picture of Stefanie!

Can’t pass up a ring shot.

These chair details were perfect to add a pop of color to the white ceremony chairs.

Stefanie kept with the pink theme by switching to these cute little shoes for the reception.

A few more reception details…LOVE when couples use their engagement pictures!!

A few more of my favorite pictures from the day.

Best wishes Stefanie and Jeff. Thank you so much for letting me document this special day!

Crowne Plaza Hotel Wedding: Nate+Kandice

Meet newlyweds Nate and Kandice!

Nate and Kandice are such a sweet couple and have a total youthful vibe to them.  Part of that youthful vibe comes from their shared LOVE of Disney.  They are big (I mean BIG) Disney fans.  They had what they called “Hidden Mickys” everywhere. Here are just a few…that I found.

Here is Kandice’s dress (which also had hidden Mickeys, but too small to photograph).

I felt like I was watching Project Runway live when Kandice was sewn into her dress by her mother and grandmother.

I love when couples give their bridal party unique gifts.   They are so fun to photograph I feel like it’s a gift for me too…so thank you Nate and Kandice!  Nate gave all of his groomsmen pocket watches and Kandice gave all of the girl matching purses.

I not only LOVE this picture of Kandice I am so grateful for this pictures.  Nate and Kandice had their reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  It is not uncommon for a venue to book two weddings for the same day; it is uncommon for them to be so close together.  This picture was taken with the OTHER bride about 50-feet away.  Kandice looks calm, relaxed and BEAUTIFUL…not something most brides could pull off.

One word…cute!

Pink is a very popular color for weddings, but what makes this unique is how even Nate was on board with the color choice.

You might remember from their engagement pictures here how Nate spun her around. Well-I loved those pictures so much I made them do it again.

I love in this picture because you can see the little splash of pink from Kandice’s slip.

The first dance is always one of my favorite parts of the evening.

You know it’s a good first dance when the bride and groom high five at the end!

The receptions was a blast thanks to Got You Covered DJ service.

Part of the reason I LOVE to photograph weddings is because I love to see the relationship(s) between people.  At weddings most of the focus is usually on the new relationship between the bride and groom, but weddings are also a window into other relationships and I love looking in.  Sometimes it’s the grandparents that have been married for 50 years and who still slow dance together; or sometimes it new relationships still growing that catch my eye.  A particular bride’s maid and her date caught my eye…for a couple of reasons.  Number one they are just so cute.

Number two-There was a very calculated plan (between the girls at least) that she would catch the bouquet and he would catch the garter. When he didn’t catch the garter here is a little discussion that took place between the with groomsmen who did catch the garter (sorry it’s a little blurry, but it was happening fast!).

Before the night is over I always try and sneak in a few more pictures with the bride and groom.  I typically use these pictures as one of the last images in their album.  Everyone will tell you that your wedding day goes by so fast and I’ve found that sometimes these last few shots allow the couple to reflect on the day and have a chance to really soak in the moment before it’s all over.

November 5, 2009 - 5:30 pm L. Johnson - Wow, Kandice you look beautiful and Nate, oh so handsome. These are just beautiful pictures and we can't wait to see the rest. Thanks for this "sneak" peek into their wedding album.

I am in the middle of a six week wedding marathon and this last weekend I had double the pleasure with a wedding on Saturday and Sunday!  Here is a sneak peak at the double fun!
